We rehearse Monday evenings, 7:30pm to 10:00pm, at the Lewis-Gale Foundation building at 3807 Brandon Ave, Roanoke, VA

Directions from I-81:

Take exit 141.

If you are coming from the north, turn right on Highway 419.  If from the south, you will make a left turn onto 419.  Highway 419 is also known as Electric Road.

Proceed through the intersection of Highway 460 at Lakeside Plaza, which you will see on your right.

At the intersection of Highway 11 (Apperson Drive), turn left.  There will be a Sheetz station on your left, and an Exxon station across the intersection on your right.

Apperson Drive will change to Brandon Avenue.  When you pass a McDonald's restaurant (on your right), you are almost at your destination.  The Lewis-Gale Foundation building will be on your left, across from Brandon Oaks Nursing Home.

Check Gents Notes for updates on rehearsal and performance times.

Membership Requirements:

You are welcome to attend several rehearsals with no obligation, either to listen or participate.  If you decide you would like to become a member a simple audition will be required.  You should be able to match pitches you hear, "carry a tune" and blend with the chorus members sharing your voice part.  Music reading skill is optional, and assistance in music learning is be provided.  There are modest membership dues.  In order for a member to perform with the chorus in public and in contests we expect him to make an effort to regularly attend rehearsals and coaching sessions.  Work outside of reguar rehearsals may be required in order to learn/practice music and choreography.  We perform in public frequently and hold occasional family-style social events.  The Virginia Gentlemen chorus has several key calendar events each year.  We participate in Division (May) and District (October) contests, put on a fall show (November), deliver singing valentines, and perform locally as a Christmas chorus.
